Sharing course materials is an important part of collaborating within MELP. There are three primary places where materials are kept for access by instructors: 1) the MELP Info Shared drive (Google), 2) the MELP Faculty Work Shared drive (Google), and 3) the MELP Archive (on the network z:\ drive).
MELP Google Shared drives
There are two Google Shared drives in which MELP materials are kept: the CCAPS MELP Faculty Work and the CCAPS MELP Info Shared drives.
CCAPS MELP Faculty Work
This drive is home to MELP committee work materials, working folders for current courses, folders for level collaboration, SLO feedback folders (blank and drafts), and folders for special projects. All instructors have full editing access to these folders.
CCAPS MELP Info
This drive has more static policy information related to operations within MELP. You can find information about accreditation, course planning materials (like Course Guides and Syllabus Requirements materials), faculty information, MELP Homebase documents, MELP curriculum documents (SLOs), MELP libraries information, and MELP workshop information. Instructors can only view or comment on most files in this drive but are able to edit a few select files. Instructors cannot add or move files in this drive.
MELP Archive
The MELP Archive is a folder on the UMN network z:\ drive where materials are archived.
Fun fact #1: All of the materials in the MELP Google Shared Drives used to be housed in the MELP Archive.
The MELP Archive is home to completed SLO Feedback forms from past terms as well as archived course materials (syllabi, retro syllabi, assessments, lesson planning documents, and other course materials).
You may work with materials archived in the MELP Archive in Google by uploading them to your personal “My Drive” or to the “Current Course Materials (Working Folder)” in the CCAPS MELP Faculty Work Shared drive.
To gain access to the MELP Archive contact MELP's Student Services Specialist.
Please view the Overview of Shared drives and MELP Archive for more detailed information about accessing these folders.
