Professional Development

The Minnesota English Language Program expects, encourages, and supports staff and faculty to engage in professional development for the purpose of acquiring or expanding skills and knowledge. Such professional development allows professional growth, contributes to the profession, and improves student learning and programming. See the MELP Professional Development Policy for more details.

Core Faculty Professional Development Plans

Core faculty members are expected to engage in professional development each academic year and set a plan for a professional development project each year during the annual review goal setting. Core faculty write a summary of their professional development project and submit it to the MELP director as part of their annual review. This does not apply to adjunct teaching specialists or graduate teaching assistants.
