Security Guidelines

MELP is committed to fostering a safe learning environment for students. See the following University resources for promoting a culture of safety:

Emergencies

The MELP Safety Guidelines outline ways to approach an emergency situation during student activities and provide guidance on procedures for faculty and staff leading an activity.  In addition, the MELP Student Crisis & Referral Guidelines can help assess level of risk and provides campus resources for students who are experiencing any level of crisis or need assistance with an issue they are experiencing. These are general guidelines meant to help MELP staff and faculty (both IEP and AEP) through the process of consulting with or referring a student to a resource outside of MELP.

If an emergency situation occurs at a MELP event, the faculty lead for the event should also fill out a MELP Emergency Response Form within 72 hours of the situation.

For information about what to do about emergency situations in Nicholson 20, see the College Pathways Emergency Response Plan.
